EstroSense for Breast Cancer
Q: I have been taking EstroSense for Breast Cancer. I have Ductal Carcinoma In Situ. I just read on the internet that Milk Thistle should be avoided by anyone with breast cancer because it is estrogenic. I am taking EstroSense which contains a small amount of Milk thistle for my breast cancer. Have I done myself harm in taking this product.
A:Milk thistle is not estrogenic. Milk thistle is an herb that helps your liver detoxify toxic cancer-causing estrogens. The entire formula of EstroSense which contains I3C, sulphoraphane, D-glucarate, Milk thistle, curcumin, lycopene and rosemary is designed to reduce your risk of breast cancer and to eliminate the toxic forms of estrogen that promote breast cancer. Several of the ingredients have been used in clinical trials for breast cancer treatment. I have a family history of estrogen-receptor positive breast cancer as my grandmother died of this disease. I developed EstroSense for myself, my daughters and all the women I love. I am including three research studies on Milk thistle's active ingredients Silibinin and Silymarin used in combination with chemotherapy for better treatment of breast cancer. In answer to your question there is plenty of misinformation on the internet. Milk thistle is a very safe herb.
