Life-Threatening Autoimmune Disease in Remission
I am writing to share with you what Moducare has done for my daughter Mindy. In May of 1999 Mindy was diagnosed with Wegener's Granulomatosis, an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks itself. Wegener's is life threatening and can affect any part of the body. It causes inflammation of the blood vessels and most commonly attacks the lungs, kidneys, nose and throat. Arthritic symptoms are also common. Many Wegener's patients have kidney failure and require dialysis.
Mindy had symptoms for six months before she was finally diagnosed. She lay in a hospital bed, she couldn't speak, she had lost her hearing, and her lungs were covered in nodules. She had lost a great deal of weight, was experiencing frequent headaches, and had a devastating cough. I often sat at her side holding icepacks on her throat just to give her a few minutes of relief from the pain. Once Mindy was diagnosed, doctors did not give us much hope. Wegener's was taking its toll on Mindy. She immediately had to begin chemotherapy, take prednisone and other toxic drugs. Since chemotherapy and prednisone have to be taken on a daily basis the side effects are often devastating. The doctors warned us to expect hair loss, thinning skin, vomiting, upset stomach, excessive bruising, and aches and pains. Bladder cancer was another potential side effect of the medications. I was not willing to accept that Mindy should live like this and began to search for some help.
In my search for information I came to learn about Moducare. My sister sent me an Alive magazine, where I read an article by Lorna Vanderhaeghe that talked about autoimmune disease and Moducare. I then called Lorna to make sure it was safe and would have no adverse interactions with the medications Mindy was on. Most importantly I learned that it had a powerful healing effect on the immune system and was beneficial for many autoimmune diseases. I purchased Moducare, and Mindy has been taking it ever since. To date she has had none of the side effects the doctors warned us about. To a 16 year old girl hair loss can be a devastating thing to endure, and Moducare has saved Mindy from dealing with that. I was curious if others with Wegener's had been able to avoid the side effects of the treatments. I wrote, emailed and talked to as many people as I could find with Wegener's. I wanted to see how many of them had side effects from the same medications that Mindy was taking. Shockingly, each person I communicated with had at least two of the expected side effects. Hair loss and vomiting were the most common. Also Mindy's energy levels were very poor for months prior to her diagnosis, but once on Moducare her energy was restored.
Unfortunately Wegener's can attack any part of the body. In Mindy's case it was her trachea. Surgery was required to dilate her trachea. Doctors told us that the surgery would only provide approximately two weeks relief before the procedure would have to be repeated. It has been over seven months and Mindy has not required surgery again. The doctors had discovered a hole in her eardrum, a result of the disease, and surgery was scheduled for July of 1999. To everyone's surprise, when the specialist rechecked her ear the hole had healed itself. This was remarkable for someone on immune suppressive medications that cause very poor, slow wound healing.
In our hearts we know Moducare is the only explanation for Mindy's wonderful results. I wish there was some way you could get this message to more people, so they would have the chance Mindy has had. Moducare has given her back her energy and the glow we all missed so much. Thank you, Moducare, for giving my daughter back to me. Today, one year after her diagnosis, Mindy's doctors are very pleased with her progress. Mindy has her life back because of Moducare and a positive attitude.
